TULSA, OK— Tulsa Firefighters Political Action Committee is proud to endorse Republican Kevin Stitt in the Primary Election for Governor on June 26. Stitt is a successful Oklahoma businessman, not a career politician, and will bring a fresh, problem-solving approach to Oklahoma government.
“Kevin Stitt has taken a hands-on approach to better understand the job of a firefighter and the critical role we play across the state,” IAFF Local 176 President Jim Nance said. “He has pulled on our boots, climbed the drill tower, and felt the heat of extreme fire events side-by-side with our members in training to experience the severe conditions we face at a moment’s notice. He has demonstrated a dedication to better understanding our profession and we are confident he will apply this commitment to making important decisions that impact Oklahomans.”
After careful consideration of the gubernatorial race, members voted to endorse Kevin Stitt. We are confident he can bring real solutions to public safety issues and our state. Oklahoma’s budget crisis over the past many years has greatly impacted those serving our communities on the frontlines, and we are confident Kevin Stitt will bring sound structural change for the betterment of our great state.
“I am deeply honored to have the support of dedicated professionals who protect our communities every day,” said Kevin Stitt. “I am running for governor to put Oklahoma on the path to being the Top Ten state we all know it can be. It starts by leading the state to make decisions for the next generation and not the next election. In a Stitt administration, we are going to deliver accountability and efficiency for every taxpayer dollar spent in order to provide funding certainty to the state’s core public services like public safety, education and infrastructure.”
